 Fletch Guitars

Featuring OM built from 100% Colorado native wood harvested and milled by Paul Fletcher- Berthoud, Colorado

Research and planning for this guitar began about 8-9 years ago. After study of woods native to Colorado (pre 1850), standing dead varieties were gathered from various locations in the state. (Private property and forest service permitted). The logs, limbs, etc were transported to garage at Fletch Guitars and resawn, milled, and cut to provide 100% of wood used to hand-build the OM guitar project. Icing on the cake occurred when Dan Schwartz of Ripple Creek Lodge asked if Englemann spruce (cut from the Lodge grounds, taken to Washington DC as the 2012 U.S. Capitol Christmas tree, and returned to Forestry Department in Meeker, CO,) would be suitable for top of guitar. Dan met with me at Strong Lumber in Rifle Colorado with the base log from the tree and I was able to get two quarter-sawn plates suitable for a top. White River National Forest representative Ken Coffin was a big help in coordinating the transfer of the wood from Washington DC to Meeker.

The guitar will be unveiled at an event Sept.12, 2015 at Ripple Creek lodge near Meeker Colorado in the Flat Top Wilderness area.
JIM DEEMING, master finger style guitar player will be at the event to play the "Ripple Creek OM #115-1" guitar. Thank You Jim !!

Future plans are to showcase the guitar in the Colorado Music Hall of Fame museum at Red Rocks Colorado. (Last part of Sept. but no details yet).
UPDATE, Sept.2015 - Guitar may be seen at Colorado Music Hall of Fame museum at Red Rocks in "Colorado Luthiers" Exhibit.
